Dylan's Log
30/9/20- I have been involved in creating a plan/coming up with ideas on what our groups product/service will be. I have mainly worked on things like budgeting and objectives that will contribute towards our proposal and the administrative side of our project.
12/10/20- I have been working on devising roles for my team to focus on in order for our workload to be shared out amongst my team so that everyone has tasks to do with their strengths in mind.
24/10/20- I have come up with a concept/a few ideas which will become my track that contributes towards our team's EP. I have also been the primary person that has been filmed in our documentary documenting our work as well as helping with filming others occasionally.
2/11/20- I have been working on some of the more administrative aspects of our project including our budgeting and also creating a website which we can exhibit all of our group's work through.
20/11/20- I have worked with Jorge to help him come up with lyrics for mine and the other tracks in our EP as well as doing some backing vocals. I have also been doing things like setting up microphones in the studio to record these vocals as well as my own.
3/12/20- I have been working on adding/editing the sounds and layout of my track in order to get it to a high standard before it's offloaded for mixing. Due to limited time in college etc, some things like recording actual drum kits have not taken place therefore backup plans like midi drums have been used.
10/12/20- I have worked on adapting my track into an acoustic sing which will be included on the EP as almost something of a bonus track. Jorge and I went back into the recording studio to perform and recorded this as well as simultaneously making a video to accompany it.
6/1/21- I have been working on updating our group's website specifically taking into account and acknowledging the fact that many aspects of the project have not been able to take place due to the lockdown. (this means things like blog entries explaining the predicament) Therefore I have also been thinking about how we will present all of our work on our website now that the documentary creation process has come to a halt.
20/1/21- I have worked with Sam on tweaking sections of my track in order to make the mixing process as straight forward for him as possible. This has also entailed doing things such as creating both effect bypassed and included stems for him to use in the mixing process.
12/2/21- I have worked on listening to and giving Sam feedback in order for our group's tracks to live up to their full potential. I have also been focusing on compiling and presenting all of our team's work that contributed towards the planning process (on our website). While doing this I have also improved upon and added to our site's layout and pages.
3/3/21- I have been working on my groups website, specifically collating documents to show evidence of our completion of task 1(planning). n the creative side of things, Jorge and I have worked together on making a bonus track for our EP. It is essentially a live acoustic performance of one of the existing songs. During all of this I have been helping my team with their blog entries and work as this is a large part of what being team leader entails.
25/3/21- One of the most important things that I have been working on recently is the promotion of our EP. My team and I decided to release the acoustic bonus track we created as a early single to the full EP. I have also been planning the EP release which is now set for the 2nd of April. A large part of the EP release that I have worked on is creating the EP cover using Photoshop. I am also planning to use sections of the logo for profile pictures etc.
9/4/21- Our team's EP has now been out for a whole week, I have primarily using Instagram to promote the release and attempt to gain more traction for the team. I have also been having talks with the team leader of Fader Events about planning and the logistics required to carry out a live performance recording of some of our EP.
26/4/21- Last week, we managed to complete our live performance recording of some of our EP. Within this show I played guitar and did some backing vocals. I also helped organize people that were running the show to ensure my band's equipment was set up to our liking. I also worked on reaching out to a friend who studies film to help us film the performance from multiple angles. In the last couple of weeks I have also started throwing some ideas together for potential lyric videos to accompany the songs in the EP.
5/5/21- Since the live performance recording, I have worked with other members of my team such as Jorge to work on some sound processing to enhance the audio that can be heard in the live performance recording. The complete video has now been sent to Fader events for the Gallery event. In our team's video I can be seen performing on the right. I have also worked with Fader events to get our logo/branding style correct on their site for the event launch.
